A birthday scavenger hunt – the party highlight without weeks of preparation

Every parent knows the feeling: the birthday party is coming up, and alongside cake, decorations and invitations, someone mentions a treasure hunt. Writing clues, planning hiding spots, researching questions – that takes hours nobody has. That's exactly where quiztrip comes in: pick a distance and we generate a complete scavenger hunt from your location in seconds – through your neighbourhood, the park or the nearby woods.

What makes it special: the quiz questions are created about the real places along your route. At a statue, a playground or an old oak tree, the phone automatically unlocks the matching question – written age-appropriately in Kids Mode, with a clear explanation after every answer. A walk around the block becomes a real adventure with a learning effect built in.

And the organisation? As simple as it gets: one link for everyone. You create the hunt once, share the secret link with the other parents – and every child or team plays on their own smartphone, with no app download and no registration. A one-time €1.99 per route, no matter how many kids join in.

This is what Kids Mode questions look like

Age-appropriate, vivid and always explained – real examples from actual tours:

Sample question 1

How many years did the Frauenkirche stand as a ruin before it was rebuilt?

AAlmost 30 years
Almost 60 years
CAlmost 100 years

The Frauenkirche remained a ruin for almost 60 years after 1945 – it was only reconsecrated in 2005. Stones from the original building are part of the new one: the dark ones!

Sample question 2

Why is there a golden horseman on top of the monument in front of you?

AIt points the way to the train station
It shows the Saxon king Augustus the Strong
CIt scares away birds

The Golden Rider shows Augustus the Strong, Saxony's most famous king. The figure was once covered entirely in real gold leaf!

Sample question 3

How can you tell this tree is an oak? Look closely!

By the acorns beneath the tree
BBy its white flowers
CBy its needles

Acorns are the fruit of the oak tree. In autumn, squirrels and wild boar collect them as winter supplies – maybe you'll spot one!

Sample question 4

Find the year carved above this house's entrance. What does it mean?

AThe house number
BThe year the mayor was born
The year the house was built

Many old houses proudly display their construction year above the door. How old is this one? Do the maths – some houses are over 200 years old!

How the party runs – step by step

  1. 1

Create the route – 30 seconds

Pick a distance (we recommend 2–3 km for kids), confirm your location, done. Best done from the sofa a day or two ahead.

  2. 2

Set off together on the big day

The whole group walks the route together – one smartphone is all you need. The map guides you from waypoint to waypoint.

  3. 3

A question at every stop – about 60–90 minutes

At each location a quiz question unlocks automatically. The kids look around, discuss the answers – and learn something about the place along the way.

  4. 4

    Back to cake & presents

After the final stop you head back – and the cake tastes twice as good after all that fresh air.

Frequently asked questions about the Kids' Birthday Party

What age is the scavenger hunt suitable for?

Kids Mode is designed for children aged 6 and up – as soon as they can read short questions or an adult reads them aloud. The distance adapts: for 6- to 8-year-olds we recommend 2–3 km; older kids happily manage 4–5 km.

How long does a birthday scavenger hunt take?

Allow about 60 to 90 minutes for 2–3 km – including quiz questions, breaks and discoveries along the way. That fits perfectly into the classic party schedule between arrival and cake.

Does every child need their own smartphone?

No. One smartphone per team is enough – or even just one for the whole group if everyone walks together. Since the link is freely shareable, several teams can also compete in parallel.

What happens if it rains on the birthday?

No problem: the scavenger hunt isn't tied to a date. You can regenerate the route at short notice or postpone the party – there are no printed clues to lose.

How much does the birthday scavenger hunt cost?

A one-time €1.99 per route created – regardless of how many children and teams play. There's no subscription and no follow-up costs. You see the full route preview before paying.
